The "Korean Monster" Ryu Hyun-jin (36, Toronto Blue Jays) is returning home after a successful surgery.
Ryu's management company, ASPEC Corporation, announced on Saturday that "Ryu Hyun-jin, who completed the season, will arrive at Incheon International Airport on the 18th."
Ryu will be available for a 10-minute standing interview with reporters at the airport upon his return.
After undergoing elbow ligament reconstruction surgery in June last year, Ryu returned to the major league mound in August after more than a year of rehabilitation.
He went 3-3 with a 3.46 ERA in 11 games, proving that he can still be competitive.
Ryu's performance helped his team, Toronto, make a last-minute push to reach the postseason.
However, Ryu didn't make the roster for the Wild Card Series and missed the postseason as Toronto was eliminated.
Ryu's four-year contract with Toronto ends after this season. Now that he's a free agent, there's a lot of interest in his future.
"I'm looking forward to next season. I will prepare as well as I can," he said. 스포츠토토링크
